Adulthood: The Journey

I didn't sign up for this shit.  I know I didn't, I was there when it happened.  There wasn't a contract, no prick of the finger to draw blood, no fingerprint, nothing.  It just happened.  I became an adult.

I remember the exact day I realized I was an adult, it was the day that we were expecting Minion #1.  Before that, sure, on the books I was an adult but I certainly didn't act like one.  Even though I married the Trophy fairly early we were still having fun and being somewhat reckless.  Epic parties, staying out late, sleeping in on Sundays...those were the days.

The worse thing we had to worry about was if we had enough money to go to the movies on Friday night.  Rent was cheap, cars were smaller and life was simpler.

This April, as you know, I am participating in the A to Z Challenge once again.  Being my third go around, I know what to do but this time I decided to pick a theme.  If you haven't guessed it by now, the theme is Adulthood.  Through the month of April, each day, with the exception of Sundays because once again, even the G-Man had a day of rest, I will be blogging about different aspects of Adulthood and my musings on them.

Let's look at the word Adult, it just sounds like you're calling someone an idiot...ahh...dult.  You're a dult.  It just sounds bad you know?  That dude is such a dult.  I would say that we should call everyone grown ups but that is just as bad, I refuse to say I'm grown up.  Being an adult sucks, it doesn't matter who you are, you could be a happy person but deep down inside you despise being an adult.

I hope you enjoy the blog and make sure you give love to the other bloggers doing this challenge too (click the link on the right to go to the site).

By the way, I want to give a shout out to my homegirl Kelly who started blogging not too long ago and writes some really cool stuff, granted I don't follow some of the pop culture she blogs about...Walking Dead....  She's doing the A to Z Challenge too, check her out at kellye1020.blogspot.com

  2. Excellent theme this year! I was bad and didn't set myself down to come up with something ahead of time. Being my fourth year, you'd think I'd have this down pat, right? Nope. Not me. And then the night before I came up with a theme. Something simple. I have a feeling I will definitely enjoy your theme.
