Is This Really A Milestone?

My 100th blog post and it only took me four years to do it, not too shabby if I say so myself.  To be honest this particular post isn't my 100th post, it's actually my 101st but I didn't think my review of Chapter 4 from 50 Shades that I have waiting to be published would make a very good 100th post.

It's funny how this whole thing got started...back in 2009.  Here go and read my first post Well Here We Are..., yeah it didn't take you long I know, so here, go and read my second post 6 Day Work Week and Jar-Jar Binks.  Wow, I sucked back then but to be honest I really wasn't planning on doing this blog regularly back then, hence the six posts in 2009, two in 2010 and back to six in 2011.  I really wouldn't say that I started blogging in 2009, like at all.

I have had thousands hundreds dozens a few people ask why I started my blog up, or back up in 2011.  Simple, I needed a therapist and I am too cheap to go see one and I enjoy writing.  Looking back at this year, which is basically 85% of my 100 posts, a lot of shit has and will be happening.

Obviously both my parents passed away earlier this year, my Mom died two days after my birthday in January and my Dad in April.  It was tough and I know I am not the only one who has gone through it but for the first time in my life I felt alone, like everything was placed on my shoulders, that I had to do everything.

I also participated and completed the A to Z Challenge in April, this is where you take the alphabet and write a post about each letter every day in the month of April, with the exception of Sundays.  I have to say I bitched and moaned about it...a lot, but it was a pretty fun challenge and I will end up doing it next year as well.

Over the last eight months I have set up a Twitter account, complete with 23 followers including L.B., former Boston Bruins player, created a Facebook page for Who Woulda Thought? with a whopping 24 likes and increased my Minion Followers here to 50.  I have had a total of 8,821 page views and people seem to like what I do.

I have been awarded quite a few Accolades including the Liebster Blog Award twice, the Bad Ass Blogger Award, the Rockin' Blogger Award and of course my prized posessions, the Dude Write Awards consisting of Diamond, Platinum (three times), Gold and Chairman's Choice (twice).  I hope to earn more but of course that will come with time.

I am astounded by the stats that Google shows you on your Blogger account, did you know that my blog was found by typing in a search for androgel before and after, asshole daddy blogger (has a nice ring to it), o face, little girl vag, 50 shades of porn and many other things.  I have readers in America, Canada, Russia, Australia, Guatemala, Isreal among 6 other countries.  My most popular posts are of farting, shitting, swass and anorexia.  It's been quite the interesting roller coaster ride I've been on.

I have two more milestones coming up this month, next week I will be removing myself from the grid, or at least on vacation, I still plan to blog and do everything I normally do...except work.  This is the first week long vacation that the family and I have taken in almost eight years where we go away.  The other milestone is a pretty big one, on August 21 I will have been married to the Trophy for 13 years.  It's hard to believe it's been 13 years since I said "I Do".  Honestly it doesn't feel a day over 15 years, but I'll get into that later this month.

So, I've been rambling about things that happened and things that are going to happen and you are probably wondering how I am going to celebrate my 100th Blog Post...or at least pretend like you're wondering.  I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, write my blog.  But before I continue on this venture I would like to honestly say fuck you Thank You to everyone who is reading and following this blog and to everyone who tells people about Who Woulda Thought? because, let's face it, I've gotten used to the attention and I kind of like it.

  1. I recently reached the 100 post milestone...and I did it in just under a year!

August 21 is significant to me as well...my birthday. Coming up on 35 years!

Didn't know that about your parents, sorry to hear that man. I lost my dad a couple years ago. Losing a parent ain't easy. Losing both in the same year...man! I'm sorry.

To keep things cheery, enjoy your upcoming vacation and anniversary!

  2. I'm sorry about you parents too Kev. It's true though, blogging is good therapy and it's cheap! Built in support group. Congratulations on your 100th post and all of your accolades! Well deserved. Keep bringing the funny and have a great vacation and Anniversary!

  4. Congrats on all the good things this month and on your 100th post. I'm so sorry about your parents, losing one is hard enough I can't imagine what losing two especially that close together would be like.
Don't we all blog because we are fucked up and either too cheap for therapy or have already scared off every therapist in that certain mile radius we are willing to drive to see one?

  6. Congrats dude... its amazing. I just polished up my 300th post... which should be published over the weekend... Okay, THAT'S not amazing... what is amazing is that I'm seeing all of these similar milestones that other bloggers are reaching... and everyone seems to have started their blogs... and continue blogging for the same reasons. Nice...
